After a horrific encounter with a group of deadly smugglers, Amber and her son Maddox find a dangerous-looking but badly injured alien. Amber has to choose between two evils, will she try to escape the pursuing smuggles with her son or will she help the alien, hoping it will protect them? Amber chooses the latter and the alien does help her, but at what cost? From the moment she makes the choice to help the giant Yautja, Amber and Maddox's life finds itself on a roller coaster and Amber ultimately has to choose between her son and her heart, between sincerity and honor, and between a life among the stars or for a home.
