I wrote this story during the Covid pandemic. It was a time when I—like all of you—was socially isolated, but also emotionally cut off from my surroundings. In that quiet, enclosed period, I had the chance to turn inward and reflect on my past—on all the mistakes I had made, born from nothing more than misguided choices.
I had written before, and I hope I will continue to write until the end of my days; but the idea for this book came to me precisely then. I wanted to gather all my feelings and thoughts and manifest them in a single story. That is how “Mental Quarantine” came to life.
My hope is that, as you read, you will confront your own self—your shadows, your doubts—and perhaps, in the end, find a measure of peace with them.
